We will be selling the vinyl for only 100KR.
And Marie will probably loop perform a song or two. Which one would you like to hear?

"Elles Lys" perhaps?

Lys og Stemmer – i september!

Exciting news for danish people - in danish (sorry).

LYS – landskab og stemmer, seks aftener i september 2011

under lyslinien.

Tid (18-24) & Sted for LYS - landskab og stemmer
18. September: Ejer Bavnehøj
19. September: Issehoved Nord Samsø
21. September: Dannebrogspladsen, Gudenåen ved Ulstrup
22. September: Stubmark, Rathlousdals Gods i Odder
23. September: Klitterne syd for Grenå
24. September: Trehøje i Syddjurs

Dele af værket kan ses på www.lysogstemmer.dk

ACDC vs MARYBELL KATASTROPHY

Hello people. Dish of the day is REALITY TV.

ACDC vs MARYBELL KATASTROPHY

In the rainy month of March this year, Marie Højlund and drummer Klaus Q Hedegaard performed a couple of AC/DC cover songs as a duo at Copenhagen Jazzhouse. The show was "one night only", and because of redwine related circumstances, it wasn't recorded. What a shame..

A couple of days later we decided to "improvise" the songs once again at our rehersal room - this time in front of a low budget video recorder - for you to see, and for us to remember.

So here you go!
We start out with a solo performance of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap".

You like it? - Please share it.
More videos from this session in couple of days. Stay tuned!

By the way.. Don't remember the original AC/DC version?

Take a look right here: AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (LIVE)

Are you a tech nerd? Here's a treat.

Synth playing mix/master nerd, Emil Thomsen, bought a new gizmo.
It's the amazingly rare MicroGotar made by Gotharman!

This sucker is a time machine that takes you back to the heavenly distorted 8bit 80's.
Its complicated, sofisticated and up to no good!

.

Wanna know more?
Visit the Gotharman website or beg Mr. Thomsen for a demo after one of our shows!

Thats all for today folks.

New Video Has Everything But The Rhino

It's only been a week since we released the new single 'There Is No Rhino In This Room' and it is already spinning on the Danish radio channel P6 Beat.

And now it's got a visuel makeover.

Credits; Zuhal Koçan

Dissolving images and cut up pictures swirl around in a safari setting.
The video is inspired by Karen Segall's wonderfull designs and the colourful pictures are taken by Zuhal Koçan. It has all been put together by the band's own Jakob Schweppenhäuser who has done an awesome job with it.
Enjoy!

Free concert coming up

Saturday night at 8 we will play a free concert with our videosynth show in Ridehuset, Aarhus - for free. It´s a part of an art project called Nybyggerne.

Here is a little clip from our last show in Copenhagen, with the videosynth playing in the last part of the song Heavy Industry - just so you know what we are up to

Heavy Industry / Marybell Katastrophy from marybell katastrophy on Vimeo.

The funny thing about it, is that it is almost the same concept as Love Alley (where we are making a sound-vulcano outside aarhus), artists getting a plot to build something on as a part of a community - but despite the obvious similarities the two are as well opposites (of cause I don´t know yet as Nybyggerne didn´t take place yet). Nybyggerne I predict is the light feel-good version: taking place in a nice warm art institution inside Aarhus, only lasting a weekend and well organized from the top. I know this sounds very critical, but it´s not! it´s just facts that makes me love Love Alley even more - and hate it, in it´s own cold, unorganized organism growing on it´s own as a weed without a center on a field outside the city..and maybe I´ll learn to love Nybyggerne as well.

>#1 Different Difference

>The idea is to make the song Difference in many many different versions that we will release as time passes - made by different artist we think is different enough to make a differet difference. Here you see Jens Mønsted working on his club-difference, and me and Q trying to be cool with the sound of the young. Boy, I look forward to compare this to the version made by Bronson Brothers. Hopefully they will be released together with our version (and maybe a couple more) in about a month or so, right here...
