Introducing Mads Waehrens
Introducing the latest member of the Difference Family - by Mads Waehrens - you can stream it in the shop. He is a singer and plays a lot of different instruments. In 2008 he released his first album called Flodens hemmelighed - with poems by Henrik Nordbrandt. Right now his finishing his next album, this time with words by the young danish poet Bjoern Friis Thomsen - all the best of luck to them - and thank you for the very different difference.

Here we go again
So here we go again, after a summerbreak we are ready for more music making, playing and distributing to you! Today we introduce a new the first member of the Different Differences family made by Alcoholic Faith Mission, and we LOVE it, you can hear it in the shop and of course subscribe and get the songs directly send to you. We are so happy that the remakes keep taking us different places, into new deep forrests of imagination - thank you! And we promise there are a lot more to come - but remember we work with musicians, without any deadlines (because they kill stuff) so therefore it will hopefully be a never ending story - taking all the time in the world
Remix our tracks with a little jazz on P3
The summer has taken a hold on us, and instead of sending you new version of Difference, we give you the tracks for you to remix yourself - if you subscribe to Different Differences in the shop. It's the same tracks as all the musicians making new versions got, and you should send us your version if you make a good one - maybe we will send it our to all subscibers! Don't think that we will stop sending you new versions, there are several new ones coming up during the rest of the summer, and hopefully this will be the neverending song...
We are took a little summer break but saturday we will play during the Jazz (?!) festival in Copenhagen. The concert will take place in Øksnehallen in the Foyer and Roxy Joules (who used to play in Marybell) will play before us.
The danish national radio P3, usually playing a lot of crap music, playlisted our version of Difference The Difference - I guess they play it once in a while in the night when they think they won't disturb too many with our cataclysmic-odd-experimental-extreme-art-music and still keeping on track with the alternative part of our very small country. Our good friend Johannes now aka. http://www.myspace.com/themalpracticedk (once I Am Bones then Cabin Fever - now The Malpractise) also has a great great song playing there right now, where Q is playing drums and Emil did the mastering job, so maybe it's time to try and turn it on - if you dare...
Introducing Morten in danish

As I mentioned before the danish poet Morten Søndergaard is writing almost all the lyrics for the new Marybell songs - including Difference. He usually writes everything in danish, but with Marybell he writes in english, so we gave him the challange to read the poem out loud in danish - he did (with a little help from Google translate) and here you go! perfect for a sunday evening.
Introducing Mr. Eyefix

The second remake of Difference is added to the Different Differences family! You can hear it in the shop and of course subscribe and get the songs directly to your inbox. This weeks remake is made by Jens Mønsted aka. Eyefix, he is a gifted musician and also makes cool live visuals. This little video is from the making of his remake

Introducing The Bronson Brothers
So here we go, the first remake of Difference is added to the Different Differences family, you can hear it in the shop and of course subscribe and get the songs directly send to you. This remake is made by The Bronson Brothers and we love it! It is so romantic and open, just as they look at this old picture - so young and full of life:
Difference Release Today Today Hooray
TODAY TODAY, we are launching the new and improved Marybell blog and the brand new Marybell shop. Currently you will be experiencing some irregularities - so be kind to us, before the end of the day it will all be fixed. In the shop you can subscribe to our new single Difference, and pick your own price. What will happen is that you will receive our version of the song, and in the future you will recieve several other versions of the same song, made by other artists. So when you wake up in the morning and feel like some slow Difference, you can pick say the Billy Ray Cyrus version (still haven't heard from him...but waiting)
Next week I promise you a pleasant version for you by a danish band that made a song called "Initials SG", anyone up for a wild guess????
By the way, the DJs for the tomorrow night Regnsky, also have a blog about music, where you can read a bit more about the gig
>the 27. and all that will happen before
>May always seem to attack you when you least expect it - suddenly we are drowned in good work with new singles, new webpage, new shop, new concerts, new recordings and all the other stuff that surrounds you with passive aggression. Next thursday the 27. we will play at Pumpehuset in Cph with Slaraffenklang - a mix between Slaraffenland & Efterklang - a lovely evening I suspect - actually Kasper, the singer of Efterklang often performed our song Lost Ship live with us, and Anders Boll who I introduced earlier is their soundguy - Denmark is very small...Here is a picture from our Roskilde show where Kasper is with us some years ago:
read about the concert here
and a bit about our upcoming single on subscribtion here
Ganz toll.
>The thing about making music and dopamine levels
>My dear friend Johannes aka. Cabin Fever also has a blog about his music here. Right now his also finishing his version of Difference. Apart from being one of the most talented songwriters I know, he is also very wise and funny, a good combination I would say. A while ago he posted this graph on his blog, and boy did I recognize the feeling going through the proces of making a song:
A few weeks after he posted this I saw a great lecture on the internet about animals and humans compared, by Robert Sapolsky. About 25 min. into the lecture he started talking about dopamine rushes, when solving a task (as eg. making a song) that we humans crave and live for, and the similarity with Johannes graph was striking...
>Lyrics Difference
>
The danish poet Morten Søndergaard made the lyrics for Difference, and here it is:
difference
hi im home from jupiter
return to noise and toys
can't trust these conditions
i have spider sprinkle on
i want to get out of this loop
hi im back from pluto
but too entangled
and time is space
a blue blue tiger
let it go and the mind too
the terms of the evening light are clear and i am you and you are me
and we are here a green green beam from a star
the night is warm as usual
so we drink the cold cold water
and walk around the house the strange, strange messy house, this
messy house
hi im back from yesterday
where everything looks quite okay
andromeda and all that
only lightyears away
I tried to call the sun
I tried to get a hold of Mars
I tried to contact Mercury
And then I tried you
