Working for the progress (.. new album? YES!)
Our upcoming album is materializing at the speed of sound and we are eager to present it to you!
We are currently working on 14 new extravagant songs/sketches/ideas from our humble hearts in several different locations with a number of lovable producers and friends.
Kenneth Nørby Andersen (The Malpractice, Beta Satan, ao.),
Anders Boll (Howe Gelb Efterklang, ao.),
Kristian Vad (TV2, Kings Of Dark Disco, ao.)
and of course our very own Klaus Q Hedegård (Tiger Tunes, Figurines ao.) and Emil Thomsen (Marybell Katastrophy!).
As usual our inspirations and creative outputs point in a thousand directions, but songwriting is more focused than ever - and we're actually pretty sure the album is gonna end up quite coherent.
Conclusion: if music be the food of love - all is love.

Feel free to share this with your friends!
They like Marybell too, but probably just forgot to click "like" on the bandpage
Concerts, remixes and tour-pics
A lot of things have happened in Marybell Katastrophy-land lately.
Germany
The band had a great tour in Germany last week where they visited Hamburg & Berlin along with The Malpactice. Johannes, leadsinger and wordsmith in The Malpractice, sent home a tour diary for the danish music magazine Gaffa. In between the food and computer game tips, rants about traffic in big cities and noise restrictions you also get to hear about the concerts: links to part 1, 2 & 3 (in danish).
You can find pictures from the concert in Berlin by clicking the image.

Tectonics Repercussions
The Malpractice & Marybell Katastrophy are like two youngsters tongue-kissing, it's impossible to tell or tear them appart. Marie Højlund and Q. are playing with 'Malleren' and Johannes sometimes joins Marybell onstage as well. And do you remember the post about the Marybell remix of The Malpractice song "Human Condition"? Now it has been released digitally along with remixes from among others Jenny Wilson, Bredvig and... wow can this get more intertwined? - the other half of Marybell Katastrophy, Jakob Schweppenhäuser and Emil Thomsen, also known as the experimental electronical duo Schweppenhäuser/Thomsen (shortened SCHWTH).
Listen to all the remixes here.
Free concert in Aalborg
Aalborg is having a festival in July and has invited Marybell to join the fun. It happens outdoors at Gammel Torv, June 10th at 8 PM sharp! The best part is that it's a free concert. So pack the picnic basket and enjoy a summernight out. Join and share the Facebook event right here.
Concerts in the fall
For all those of you who can't make to Aalborg in July here is some good news. 10 danish shows in November just in time to show of the new material, it's gonna be so great. Read more and check if your town is on the to-do list right here.
That's all I can think of for now - have a lovely weekend

Good Old Germany – We’re Back

*Notice: this is no April Fool joke... or maybe... nope it's for real*
Lise here with a tour update:
Marybell Katastrophy and The Malpractice are once again joining forces, and this time they are headed for Germany.
This is where the wild things go:
The mini-tour celebrates that The Malpractice's debutalbum Tectonics is being released in Germany. And also that Marybell Katastrophy have used 2010 to compose new fantastic songs for an album that are going to come out late 2011. You can already listen to the 3 new songs 'Difference', 'Heavy Industry' & 'Knight Song' via the sidebar player.
And for those of you who don't know The Malpractice - where drummer Q. and leadsinger Marie also are a part of the lineup - it is Johannes Gammelby known from such "supa-dupa dope bands like the grungy I Am Bones and the hate-rock-y Beta Satan. As awesome mastermind-with-friends-outfit, demanding your attention as The Malpractice, hell is being raised!" The Malpractice takes grunge and aggressive rock as a point of departure, though they also adds pophooks and noisy synthesizers in a dirty, violent, existentialist universe. Hit singles includes "Oh, The Irony" and "Boss Stallion".
Together they aim to celebrate the good melody and create even better times.

New in – New out
Hello
I'm new to the family. My name is Lise, Marybell Katastrophy aficionada and internet wizzard in the making. My job is to give Marybell.dk an interactive facelift as well as occasionally update you guys with news from Katastrophy-ville.
Marybell Katastrophy & The Malpractice send their best to all of you and say thanks for an awesome Denmark tour. For those of you who couldn't make it - as well as for the nostalgics - enjoy the following video from the live performance of "Dl 10" from The More at Voxhall, Aarhus.

Tjit Tjat has commented on the joined venture of MaryMalleren – aka. how Marie and Q. are involved in both Marybell katastrophy and The Malpractice. Read the review here (in danish).
As for the new and exciting things happening behind the scenes at Marybell.dk - we'll get back to that another time.
Exploding in Explosions
So here is a little bit more about the shows coming up:
Can you hear images? Can you see sounds? In our brand new collaboration with Jens Mønsted, you can! Together, we have developed a synaesthetic concept: With a construction that we call the video synth, Jens is playing motion pictures, full of sound. Of the sound that the world makes, of the sound of the things - things like a machine's robot arm turning rhythmically along with the drums in "Heavy Industry". We are erasing the borderline between what the eyes see and what the ears hear! You hear with your eyes and see with your ears... And, as earlier mentioned, Karen Segall has designed and decorated new costumes for us that complete this new visual concept.
We only play two shows with this setup, in Aarhus the 22th of October (øst for paradis kl 23.50) and Copenhagen the 23th of October (musikcafeen kl 21.00 with Roxy Joules) - so come, if you want to see how it sounds!
Karen Segall

Very soon we will play some very special shows in Aarhus and Cph with videosynth and explosions - more about that later - but for now have a look at the spectacular clothes the talented illustrator Karen Segall made for us - being printed in Germany right now. They are all unique and inspired by our songs.

Remix our tracks with a little jazz on P3
The summer has taken a hold on us, and instead of sending you new version of Difference, we give you the tracks for you to remix yourself - if you subscribe to Different Differences in the shop. It's the same tracks as all the musicians making new versions got, and you should send us your version if you make a good one - maybe we will send it our to all subscibers! Don't think that we will stop sending you new versions, there are several new ones coming up during the rest of the summer, and hopefully this will be the neverending song...
We are took a little summer break but saturday we will play during the Jazz (?!) festival in Copenhagen. The concert will take place in Øksnehallen in the Foyer and Roxy Joules (who used to play in Marybell) will play before us.
The danish national radio P3, usually playing a lot of crap music, playlisted our version of Difference The Difference - I guess they play it once in a while in the night when they think they won't disturb too many with our cataclysmic-odd-experimental-extreme-art-music and still keeping on track with the alternative part of our very small country. Our good friend Johannes now aka. http://www.myspace.com/themalpracticedk (once I Am Bones then Cabin Fever - now The Malpractise) also has a great great song playing there right now, where Q is playing drums and Emil did the mastering job, so maybe it's time to try and turn it on - if you dare...
>the 27. and all that will happen before
>May always seem to attack you when you least expect it - suddenly we are drowned in good work with new singles, new webpage, new shop, new concerts, new recordings and all the other stuff that surrounds you with passive aggression. Next thursday the 27. we will play at Pumpehuset in Cph with Slaraffenklang - a mix between Slaraffenland & Efterklang - a lovely evening I suspect - actually Kasper, the singer of Efterklang often performed our song Lost Ship live with us, and Anders Boll who I introduced earlier is their soundguy - Denmark is very small...Here is a picture from our Roskilde show where Kasper is with us some years ago:
read about the concert here
and a bit about our upcoming single on subscribtion here
Ganz toll.
