Nordklang Festival in Schweiz – and a prerelease radio party in Hamburg
Hi Everybody!
We are currently celebrating the upcoming release of 'AMYGDALA' on German radio show, Urbanissimo, by playing a couple of songs live on the air. Marie actually revisited our good old AC/DC cover of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap! and we played an almost perfect version of our upcoming single Somewhere Behind My Lips.
AMYGDALA will hit German cyber stores and realvinyl stores on the 1. March.
Oh.. if you never saw that AC/DC thingy - press this string of words: IWANTTOSEEACDC
Yes. You are right. Marie gained weight. A lot actually... SHE' PREGNANT!!
HOORAY FOR MARYBABY #2
Tomorrow we will be playing a show at The Nordklang Festival in St. Gallen, Schwitzerland with tons of cool Scandinavian acts.
If you're in the area, make haste a spend thy dollars on a ticket! We will totally make it worth your while.
German release, Nordklang and Bornholm
I (Marie) greet you from the cold and windy Bornholm, where i'm working on new songs next to this guy:
He is kind of the only guy around, as the house here is invaded by not only me but also Alouise, Hanna Schneider, Søs Gunver Ryberg and Rosa Lux.
Apart from that we (the guys in the band and me) are looking forward release Amygdala in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the 22. of february. We work together with the Berlin based music agency Snowhite and plan a little release party in Berlin on the 22. (place and time tba). The day after we will play at the Nordklang Festival in Switzerland. The fantastic German magazine Kaltblut made this great interview with us leading up to the release, so go check it out here.
So for now I will end with this little live video from our wonderful evening at Radar a couple of weeks ago playing Somewhere Behind My Lips:
Three nominations for GAFFA awards!
We are nominated in three categories for the GAFFA awards 2012, in the categories: Best Band, Album of the year, and Best Electronic Release. We are very proud, and would of cause be very happy if you would support us by voting before November the 23.
Releaseparty #2 – now in Copenhagen

We are so glad that AMYGDALA is finally here that one releaseparty just doesn't seem like enough - so we are going to throw one more this time in Copenhagen.
We would love to see you there. So stop by Musiksmag (Jægersborggade 43, Nørrebro) between 2PM - 6PM and join us for a sip Lambrusco in the sun, play some games, catch up with us and listen to Amygdala. For more details check the Facebook event.
We will be selling the vinyl for only 100KR.
And Marie will probably loop perform a song or two. Which one would you like to hear?
"Elles Lys" perhaps?
The Difference is Fossilence
So, we had an extraordinarysupertastic release concert. We are really glad so many came to celebrate with us.
Our friends in Fossils even gave us a speciel gift - can you quess which song this is a cover version of?
That's right, it's dear old "The Difference" receiving an even heavier dosis of bas and drums than usual. The cover version is most appropriately named "Fossilence".
Listen to the original right here:
Below you find a couple of pics from the evening. We are so looking forward to playing in Tivoli later this month.

Stream Amygdala, Read First Review And See Our Concert Trailer
So here's some late sunday news.
For a limit period you can stream Amygdala at the danish music magazine Soundvenue. That happens right here.
Come celebrate the release with us at Radar @ Aarhus this wednesday. We and some friends of ours are going to play and you can buy the vinyl for only 50 KR. See the Facebookevent right here and click the video below for a sneak peek of the evenings program.
Even though Amygdala isn't out until April 4th we already found the first review and it's looking splendid. 5 stars out of 6 and so many kind and enthusiastic words that we are all blushing. You can read it here (in danish):
Marybell Katastrophy & Nils Frahm at SPOT Festival

Adventurous avantgardepop meets neo-classic piano compositions. For this years SPOT Festival we are teaming up with on of our (and Thom Yorke's) piano favorites Nils Frahm. We met during the mastering of Frahms gorgeous piano record Felt (2011) and fell for each others sound. For one night only we are going to be MaryNils or maybe KatastroFrahm. We are so excited.
Who knows what is going to happen when we bring together Frahms delicate, intimate music and our festive, noisy pop?

Somewhere Behind My Lips
"Somewhere Behind My Lips" is now right before your eyes.
This is our new single from the upcoming album Amygdala (out April 4th).
Look how it's all shiny, bony and psychedelic.
Have you ever heard of Musicure? It's music that you can buy at your pharmacy and it is supposed to give you certain feelings. Amygdala can also be seen as music medicine that tries to trigger your feelings but which effect it will bring is not predictable since the record is brand new.
"Somewhere Behind My Lips" is the unofficial title track seen as it revolves around amygdala - a small area in the brain's frontal lope. It's a little almond shaped unit that deals with fear and defense reactions. It can be activated by smell, taste and other senses and have an autonomous way of controlling functions like your breathing or (more unfortunately) your bowel movements.
We sincerely hope that "Somewhere Behind Your Lips" trigger your happy feelings and dancing lust instead of more frightful reactions.
The artist behind the video is Olaf Zhiga who is also the mastermind behind the visuals we play on our videosynths at live performances. See more of his works here or come join us at our releaseshow at Radar (Aarhus) 4th of April.
